Using Your Analytics to Make Better Decisions
Your dashboard data tells a story. Here is how to read it and act on it.
Data You Already Have
Your CafeRadar merchant dashboard tracks metrics that most indie cafes never see. Here is what each one means and what to do with it.
Impressions vs. Profile Views
Impressions: How many times your cafe appeared in search results or on the map. Profile views: How many people tapped into your full listing.
The ratio matters. If you get 1,000 impressions but only 50 profile views (5%), your listing thumbnail is not compelling enough. Update your primary photo or add a promotion to attract clicks.
Check-ins Tell the Truth
Check-in data shows actual visits. Compare check-ins to profile views:
- High views, low check-ins = your listing looks good but something stops people from visiting (price? location? hours?)
- Low views, high check-ins = loyal base, but you are not attracting new customers
Peak Hours
The Peak Hours chart shows when most check-ins happen. Use it to:
- Staff up during your busiest 2-hour window
- Run promotions during your slowest hours ("Happy hour 3-5pm, 20% off all drinks")
- Plan events for off-peak times to fill the gap
New vs. Returning Customers
A healthy ratio is 30-40% new customers, 60-70% returning. If you are heavily skewed toward new customers (80%+), your retention is weak. Focus on loyalty programs. If you are 90% returning, you need more discovery. Update your listing, run promotions, and post events.
Weekly Trends
Look at week-over-week changes, not day-to-day. A single bad Monday does not mean anything. Three consecutive weeks of declining check-ins is a signal to act.
Save Rate
When users save your cafe to favorites, it means they plan to visit later. A high save rate with low check-ins suggests your cafe appeals to people who have not visited yet. Consider a first-visit promotion to convert saves to visits.
